Bryan Butler  |  Assistant Coach


Butler returns for his second season as an assistant coach under head coach Greg Ridout. Butler comes to DeSales after coaching for one season at Geneva College where he was a four-year starter for the Golden Tornadoes.

During his career at Geneva, Butler was named a NCCAA 2nd team All American while also being named to the All-PAC (President Athletic Conference) First and Second-Team during his career. After his career, Butler continued playing and signed a professional contract with the Evergreen Diplomats in the American Soccer League. Butler was a key part of the Diplomats run into the playoffs in 2015.

Following his season playing for the Diplomats, Butler returned to Geneva College as an Assistant Coach for the 2015 season. During that season, Butler helped the Golden Tornadoes to a 13-5-4 overall record, 6-1-1 record in the conference including a berth in the Presidents Athletic Conference championship game. GC also received an invitation into the ECAC tournament that season.

Butler also has multiple years of experience coaching club soccer. He was the coach for nationally ranked club teams in Maryland (Arundel Soccer Association) and for North United FC in Western Pennsylvania as well as coaching the U14 Raptors 02 Black for western Lehigh soccer club.

Butler graduated from Geneva College in 2015 with a degree in Sport’s Management and finished his Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Liberty University in October 2016. Butler possesses his NSCAA Goalkeeping Level 1 and 2 Diplomas along with his NSCAA National and Advanced National Diplomas. Butler now resides in Hellertown, Pennsylvania.
